The Canon Sure Shot Del Sol is a futuristic twist on the classic point-and-shoot — a 35mm camera with a distinctive clamshell design and a unique, front-facing solar panel.
The fold-down solar panel reveals the lens, doubling as both a protective cover and a defining design feature. It houses a 32mm ƒ/3.5 lens, paired with three-point autofocus and a programmed autoexposure system with shutter speeds from 2 to 1/250 sec. The camera reads DX-coded film from ISO 25 to 3200, making it compatible with a wide range of film stocks.
Released in the late ’90s, the Del Sol blends minimal controls with a sleek, futuristic form — topped off with a wrist strap for everyday portability.
