The Epson Maintenance Tank safely stores ink that is flushed from the system during print head cleanings. To ensure proper functioning, replace the tank when an ink cartridge is used up or the maintenance box reaches its service limit. The printer will notify you when the cartridge is low or depleted, or when the maintenance box needs to be swapped out.
